Client Testimonial

I am very satisfied with the performance of the east west vertical bifacial solar PV system that Sunstream Energy installed on my dairy farm in 2019. In sunny conditions from the beginning of April through to the end of September it is very impressive to observe the system generating at full power when morning milking begins at 7am and evening milking finishes at 7pm. (link to graph). The system generated 27.5 MWh in 2020 which was half my total electricity consumption for the year. More importantly, 74% of the energy generated was consumed on the farm.

The PV type fence structure proved to be very successful, taking up no ground space with the cows able to graze underneath with no risk of damage.

Based on 2020 performance I expect my PV investment will be repaid within 5 years. The long product warranties of 10 and 12 years for the inverter and PV modules respectively and a 30-year performance warranty on the modules gives me total piece of mind. The Fronius Solar web monitoring app is very informative with key data available in a very user-friendly display.

I was very happy with Sunstream Energies knowledge, professionalism, and assistance from start to finish. They left no stone unturned in the planning and implementation of the project and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in going down this route.

Bifacial solar PV system

A bifacial solar PV system is a type of photovoltaic (PV) system that utilises solar panels capable of capturing sunlight from both the front and rear sides (In this case – Easy/West). Traditional solar panels only capture sunlight on their front side, but bifacial panels have transparent back sheets that allow light to reach the rear side. This design enables them to generate electricity not only from direct sunlight but also from reflected sunlight off surrounding surfaces, such as the ground or nearby structures.

Energy Savings with the Solar Energy Fence™

The system generated 27.5 MWh in 2020 which was half of the Foran’s farm total electricity consumption for the year. More importantly, 74% of the energy generated was consumed on the farm.
